Ohio joins the tax holiday party in 2015, giving Buckeye State shoppers three days in early August when some items will be exempt from sales taxes. See below for Ohio’s first tax holiday dates, tax-exempt items and notable rules and exceptions.

  • Clothing items priced at $75 or less each
  • School supplies priced at $20 or less each
  • School instructional materials priced at $20 or less each
Notable holiday rules, exceptions The number of apparel pieces is unlimited as long as each item’s cost is the cap price or less. If an item of clothing sells for more than $75, tax is due on the entire selling price. Accessories and sports equipment still are taxable.
