McDonald’s offers gift cards in denominations ranging from $5 to $50. Cards can be purchased at the restaurant or at participating retailers nationwide.
McDonald’s gift cards, called Arch Cards, have no expiration date, maintenance fees or purchase fees. The card is reloadable.
McDonald’s sells only physical gift cards. It does not offer its cards in e-card or mobile formats.
In the case of loss or theft, McDonald’s will replace the card if you have your activation and reload receipts.

Not only can you reload a gift card online at any time, you can set up the card to auto-reload using your credit card. That sounds like a good way to keep junior fed while he’s away at school.
Other things to know:
- There are actually just 4 denominations you can choose when purchasing a McDonald’s gift card — $5, $10, $25 and $50. Of course, $50 will buy a lot of burgers.
- McDonald’s does not offer PINs for its gift cards, a security enhancement available on many other gift cards.
- You can check your gift card balance online.
- You cannot earn rewards by using a McDonald’s gift card.
