Betsy Verecky is a freelance writer and editor. She joined The Associated Press in 2004 in Athens, Greece, covering the Paralympics, art and archaeology exhibitions and minority rights issues. From there, she moved to Louisville, Kentucky, where she worked as a print and broadcast writer and editor for nearly a year. She then transferred to New York City to cover the financial industry for four years, including breaking news that affected the markets and in-depth features on the consumer products industry and the luxury sector.
