For the fourth week in a row, fixed-rate credit card averages hold steady. For all cards -- standard, gold and platinum, the fixed rate comes to 11.89 percent and the variable rate to 11.95 percent, down 13 basis points from last week. The average fixed rate for standard cards stays at 13.42 percent, while the variable rate falls 12 basis points to 12.52 percent.
Soon, getting added as an authorized user of someone else's credit card won't help you build a better FICO score. Under the new scoring model, FICO 08, authorized users will not have those accounts factored into their FICO credit scores. Experian and TransUnion are expected to implement FICO 08 later in 2008.
