20 days 341 meeting
 
The 341 meeting is run by the trustee, who places the debtor under oath and asks questions about the debt. Creditors may attend.
Make sure to bring Social Security card and other identification.
For Chapter 7, this meeting occurs 20 to 40 days after filing and can be as short as five minutes. The trustee liquidates the debtor’s nonexempt assets.
For Chapter 13, the meeting occurs 20 to 50 days after filing and can be as short as 15 minutes. You will start repaying creditors within 30 days of filing by making payments to trustee to disburse.
Attendance is mandatory.
