Apparently Suzuki thinks the buyers of its personal watercraft and ATVs want a Suzuki branded pickup to haul those toys. That must be the logic behind Suzuki taking Frontier compact pickups from Nissan, tweaking the styling and calling it an Equator. It will be available in crew-cab and extended-cab models, and the mechanical underpinnings are unchanged from the Nissan -- the base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, with a 4.0-liter V-6 an option. No word on pricing, but it should be similar to the Frontier, which starts just above $16,000. EPA estimates on the Frontier are 19 mpg city, 23 mpg highway for the four-cylinder and are 15 mpg city, 20 mpg highway for the V-6. |
