Dealers may be eager to negotiate prices to get rid of their 2016 cars, but many 2017 cars are cheaper to lease than their 2016 counterparts are, according to a recent analysis by SwapALease.com.

Monthly lease payments are cheaper on the newest models than they are for the outgoing model year because the residual value of the car — the car’s worth at the end of the lease — is higher for the 2017 models.
