Tom
Evans - President and CEO
Tom Evans joined Bankrate in June of 2004. Prior to joining Bankrate,
Tom was the Chairman and CEO of Official Payments Corp. from August
1999 until August 2002. Official Payments Corp. is the leading provider
of electronic payment options to government entities, enabling consumers
to use credit cards to pay, by telephone or through the Internet,
personal federal and state income taxes, sales and use taxes, property
taxes and fines for traffic violations and parking citations.
In November 1999, Mr. Evans took Official Payments through a successful
IPO. Official Payments was acquired by Tier Technologies in August
2002. Prior to working at Official Payments Corp., Mr. Evans was
the President and CEO of the Internet company, GeoCities Inc, from
April 1998 to June 1999. Shortly after joining GeoCities, Evans
took the company through a successful initial public offering in
August 1998, with a valuation of $521 million. During his tenure
at GeoCities, the company grew from the seventh to the third most
trafficked site on the Internet and grew from 1 million to over
5 million members. In the following 9 months, the company made 3
acquisitions before being acquired by Yahoo! in May 1999 for $4.6
billion.
From 1991 to 1998, Evans was the President and Publisher of U.S.News
& World Report where he had spent 13 years. In addition
to his duties at U.S. News, Evans served as the President of The
Atlantic Monthly (1996-1998) and as the President and Publisher
of Fast Company (1995-1998), a magazine launched in 1995. U.S.
News & World Report, The Atlantic Monthly and Fast
Company comprised the magazine group owned by Mort Zuckerman.
Evans is a graduate of Arizona State University with a B.S. in Business
Administration.

Cotter Cunningham - Senior Vice President and Chief Operating
Officer
Cotter
Cunningham joined Bankrate, Inc. in 1999 after serving as Vice President
and General Manager of VML Interactive, an advertising agency specializing
in new media. His VML clients included Applebee's, American Century,
AMC Theatres, American Express, H&R Block and Northwest Airlines.
From 1992 to 1997, he was Vice President of Block Financial Corporation,
a subsidiary of H&R Block, Inc., where he created, launched
and directed the CompuServe Visa and WebCard Visa credit card programs,
which were the first Internet-focused bank cards.
Mr. Cunningham holds a BA in Economics from the University of Memphis
and an MBA from Vanderbilt University.
Robert
J. DeFranco - Senior Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer
Robert
J. DeFranco was promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Financial
Officer in October 2000 after having served as Vice President -
Finance beginning in March 1999. From 1986 to 1999, he held various
positions in corporate accounting and finance for companies including
Ryder System, Inc., Southeast Banking Corporation, SunTrust Banks,
Inc. and Ocwen Financial Corporation. His experience includes all
aspects of corporate accounting and finance, internal and external
financial reporting - including SEC reporting, mergers and acquisitions
(analysis, integration and accounting), corporate re-engineering,
budgeting and forecasting.
A Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute
of Certified Public Accountants, Mr. DeFranco was part of the commercial
audit division of Arthur Andersen & Co., Miami, FL, from 1978
to 1986.
Mr. DeFranco received a BS degree with a major in accounting from
Florida State University.
Richard
G. Stalzer - Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer
Richard
Stalzer joined Bankrate, Inc. February 2004, bringing over 15 years
of media sales and management experience to the Company. Prior to
joining Bankrate, he was with MSN-Microsoft Corporation as East
Coast Financial Service Director since March 2003, and as Director
of Agency Relations since September 2002. From March 1999 to February
2002 he was Vice President of Sales of E*Trade Financial Group where
he was responsible for developing E*Trade's media business, and
the creation of the E*Trade Financial Network. From October 1990
to March 1999 he held various positions with MONEY Magazine - Time
Warner; most recently as Western Regional Advertising Director from
December 1995 to March 1999. Mr. Stalzer received a Bachelor of
Science degree with a major in Business Administration from the
University of Denver in 1986.
