Tiger Woods, the world's wealthiest golfer, is also the richest athlete still active in his sport, according to research from Wealth-X. Woods has an estimated net worth of $590 million, which is higher than the combined total of the remaining players on the top 10 wealthiest golfers list.
Aside from his prize money, Woods' income is paid by generous sponsorships and bonuses from Rolex and Nike. He also has collected more than $10 million in fees since March from appearances in China, Turkey, Abu Dhabi and Malaysia.
As of July, Woods' net worth totaled more than three times that of the No. 2 golfer on the list of wealthiest duffers, Phil Mickelson, whose wealth is estimated at $190 million. Check out the full list of the five richest golfers.
Other top-notch athletes with incomes to match also trail far behind 37-year-old Woods: NBA basketball player Kobe Bryant has an estimated net worth of $220 million and Swiss tennis player Roger Federer clocks in at an estimated $180 million, according to Wealth-X.
