Some of the richest men in the world don't appear to have heeded the sound of wedding bells. Perhaps they're too busy making money. The richest bachelor in the world, Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen, age 60, has an estimated net worth of $15.3 billion, according to Wealth-X.

The Seattle resident founded an investment firm, Vulcan Capital, and also owns the Seattle Seahawks football team and the Portland Trail Blazers basketball team.

Second on the list of richest billionaire bachelors is Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani, 79, with an estimated net worth of $10.9 billion.

Those who made the top five in the list compiled by Wealth-X are confirmed bachelorsĀ -- none of them has ever been married. Whether money plays a part in that is uncertain, but David Friedman, president of Wealth-X, said that it's a challenge for the super-rich to find a soul mate who is not overly impressed by the money. "Against the backdrop of a proliferation of matchmaking TV shows and online services, meeting the right person is harder than ever," he noted.

Below is the list of the richest single guys:

The world's five richest bachelors

Rank Name Age Company Net worth
1 Paul Allen 60 Vulcan Capital $15.3 billion
2 Giorgio Armani 79 Giorgio Armani $10.9 billion
3 Mikhail Prokhorov 48 Brooklyn Nets $9.3 billion
4 Xavier Niel 46 Iliad $8 billion
5 David Geffen 70 Dreamworks Animation $6.6 billion

Kim, Bill Gates has given so much back to society. As so with Warren Buffet. Both of these guys have done so much. I'm sure the other billionairs are doing their share as well. Without these billionairs, we would not have a workforce. The billionairs create jobs for many people. The less fortunate do need help. Thats where the government needs to step in If we lived in a more peaceful society, we would not need to spend so much for national defense. Its the criminal element that causes us not to be able to take care of the unfortunate. If we didn't spend so much taking care of criminals, we could focus on the homeless. Blame it on the system. We reward criminals. They get fed and housed, and medical care. This is really where the problem is. Its not that the burden should be put on the very wealth.

Why don't they help all the starving children in the world, and the homeless. They can't take the money with them when they die. I think that is great that they did very well for them self's, but there are so many that need help. It is not good to be greedly, there are so many states that could use more homeless shelters not all the homeless people are because of their choice some did not have a choice. There are family s out there with kids that was forced to be out on the streets they would not want this for their children. They would feel so much happiness if they helped the needed people in the world, it is such a great feeling unlike no other. I am a single mother and I do what I can to help it might not be much but I do what I can. Every body should do what they can to help anyone that is less fortunate than others, what a great place on earth this would be. I think they need to think about that.
