This month is Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate women’s contributions to history, culture, society, science and the planet.

As a personal finance site, this is the perfect time to have a conversation with our female readers and community members about their successes and challenges with money, and how financial issues affect ladies differently than lads.

For starters, when you look at the retirement income gap by the numbers, more senior women than men live in poverty.

This later-in-life stat is a result of a lifetime of financial realities women face, including gender pay gaps, career interruptions to raise kids, risk-aversion in investing and day-to-day stresses of household budgeting.

We discussed these issues and more during a tweetchat co-hosted along with our friends at Ally Bank.
