Want to move into a haunted mansion just in time for Halloween? For less than $1 million, you can.
A live-in replica of Disney's Haunted Mansion attraction is listed for sale in Duluth, Ga. for $873,000. The 10,000-square-foot spooky house has four stories and seven bedrooms. The ghosts are not included in the deal -- except for the animated hitchhiking ghost scene in one of the home's six bathrooms.
The owner, Mark Hurt, is a designer and Disney contractor. He built the replica in 1996 in a gated community and lived there for 16 years with his wife and son. The replica matches the exact architecture and every detail of one of Disney's most popular attractions.
"He actually measured the real Disney mansion to make sure it was exact," says Mark Pianko of Theme Park Connection, a Florida company that specializes in Disney collectibles. "He went through a lot of great details to make sure it was authentic." Theme Park partnered with the owner to market the home.
The house features a "Haunted Mansion" plaque at the front gate, a two-story library, an elevator and a surprise for guests as they enter the first-floor bathroom.
"When they start washing their hands, the lights start to flicker and a ghost appears in the mirror," Pianko says. "Mark says he would forget to tell guests about the bathroom and then he would hear screams and say, 'Oh, forgot to tell them.'"
Hurt says he is selling the house because he is working on his next project, a resort-themed house modeled after Disney's Grand Californian.
The Haunted Mansion has received 45 bids on its eBay listing, which expires Nov. 1. The offers have not met the seller's asking price yet.

For everyone saying this looks nothing like the real house - If you look at the listing you can see the actual house. The "house" in the picture here is the replica child's playhouse that is built in the backyard of the actual house.
I think that someone saying they lived in California so they wouldn't get along with the locals is just clear negligence. I lived in California for years then moved to Georgia and loved it. It may be more humid but doesn't have earthquakes and the people are wonderful. As a Californian I got along just fine with everyone. Sounds like Desiree has her own attitude that makes Californians look bad because I lived in the Atlanta suburbs and Georgians are a very welcoming people and Californians get along just fine with the locals!
My Uncle, Collin Campbell, was one of the artists that designed the Haunted Mansion inside and out, and the picture does not look like the Haunted Mansion?
and,
I lived in California for 40 years and have lived in Georgia for 20 years, both states are very nice !!
LOL that's the wrong picture. The trees around it would be GiNormous if that was real. Its a doll house near some shrubbery. ROFL something definitely seemed wrong, besides it not looking anything like Disney's haunted mansion.
It's the wrong Picture. It's a play house, look at the bird bath to the left.
Plus the type said it's four stories...
This must be a replica of the Florida Disneyworld haunted mansion. It looks nothing like the original Anaheim haunted mansion. I remember the Florida version as being a clay color with only partial view of the mansion. Really third rate compared to California and that includes the shortened version of Pirates of the Caribbean in Florida. Though, I do love Epcot.
Im waiting for the pirates of the caribbean house
@Linda... Well said. As a Native Floridian who had the opportunity to live in GA (ATL area) for almost three years, I can tell you GA is FABULOUS! I moved back to Florida and I look around saying "WHY DID I EVER COME BACK HERE!" There is SO much to do, beautiful weather, and ATL is amazing! If you haven't lived there, don't knock it. And I don't know what being a Californian has to do with anything. I'm fairly liberal and did just fine if it's the politics you are referring to.
I've been to the Haunted Mansion. It doesn't look ANYTHING like it. Where's the graveyard? Where's the wrought iron fencing? Where are the spooks?
I wouldnt want to live in Georgia either and i wont appologize for it...i HATE humidity, and as a Californian I wouldnt get along with most of the locals...i wouldnt mind visiting, but not living..let Lisa think what she wants...
As for the house, its COOL....what a great idea for the builder to create something special...Good luck to whomever gets to live in it next!!!!
