With summer rapidly approaching and gas prices on the rise, any way to save money on gas will appeal to just about all drivers. Beginning this Sunday, shoppers can earn $10 in free gas for their cars by spending $30 at CVS/pharmacy locations nationwide.

To qualify for the promotion, CVS/pharmacy shoppers must use their ExtraCare rewards card and purchase $30 of specially-marked items listed in the weekly circular. Hundreds of qualifying items will be designated with the "Free Gas Card" signage in the store.

"The Free Gas Card promotion is designed to help members of our ExtraCare retail rewards program save on gas while shopping for their favorite summer picnic, health and personal care essential," said Judy Sansone, Senior Vice President, Merchandising, CVS/pharmacy.

Once customers reach $30 of participating products, a special coupon prints on their receipt that is instantly redeemable for the $10 gas card in the store. Customers have their choice of Shell, Exxon/Mobile or BP Amoco gas. They also can save the coupon and redeem it for the free gas up to 30 days later. Only one coupon can be redeemed per week, per ExtraCare rewards member.

The Free Gas Card promotion ends July 19.
