Car shoppers looking for a car lease are frustrated with the deals advertised on television, says a new study released jointly last month by SwapALease.com and WantALease.com. Consumers often arrive at the dealership looking for a lease deal they saw advertised on TV only to discover they can't get it or it doesn't suit them.
As much as 52.3 percent of car lease shoppers said they were frustrated to find out that there were hidden terms in the advertised lease, while 48.8 percent of those surveyed were disappointed that the advertised lease was for the basic car model with no options. Another 43.3 percent of respondents discovered that the advertised deal did not meet their needs in general.
With the car-lease shopping experience starting off negatively for so many shoppers, it's no surprise that many were also unhappy with negotiating the deal itself. About 50 percent of respondents were unsure if they were getting a good deal and 35 percent had a hard time understanding how the lease was calculated. Another 38.4 percent of respondents also did not like dealing with the car salesperson, while 37.8 percent were unhappy with comparing lease deals across different dealerships.
