  • 13.85% (all fixed)
  • 14.48% (all variable)

The average annual percentage rate, or APR, for variable- and fixed-rate credit cards stayed steady this week after sizable moves last week, according to Bankrate's latest survey of interest rates. The variable rate was 14.48 percent. The fixed rate remained at 13.85 percent following a jump of nearly a half-percent last week after one issuer in the survey removed three of its fixed-rate offers and added three variable-rate cards.

American Express on Monday welcomed FedEx Freight Services, Microsoft Store and Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. to its Open Savings program. All AmEx business cardholders will save 5 percent on all FedEx Freight services, on purchases made at Microsoft stores and online, and on all transactions with Dun & Bradstreet. Cardholders automatically receive the savings when they use their cards at participating partners. Their savings will be displayed on their monthly statements.
