The average five-year CD yield is down 1 basis point to 0.96 percent. The average one-year yield is 0.3 percent for the fifth week. A basis point is one-hundredth of 1 percentage point.
For deposits of $100,000, the average one-year jumbo CD yield is unchanged at 0.32 percent for the fifth week. The five-year yield lost 2 basis points, putting it at 0.97 percent.
Money market accounts continue to yield next to nothing -- exactly 12 basis points, or 0.12 percent.
