National CD rates for March 15, 2012

There is not much movement on rates for certificates of deposit, or CDs, this week.

The average five-year CD yield dropped 1 basis point to 1.14 percent. A basis point is one-hundredth of a percent.

All other terms surveyed remain unchanged from last week. The average one-year CD yield is 0.34 percent for the fourth consecutive week.

For deposits of $100,000, the average one-year jumbo CD yield is 0.36 percent for the second week. The five-year jumbo CD yield is 1.17 percent, also for the second week.

The average money market account yield remains 0.14 percent.
