New for '09: Kia Borrego SUV

Kia Borrego SUV

This could be the worst example of market timing ever, but 2009 marks the first time Kia has taken on the big SUV segment, introducing the Borrego. It comes with an optional 4.6-liter V-8 making 375 horsepower, or the standard 3.3-liter V-6 that makes 242 horsepower. The V-8 will get a six-speed automatic transmission, while the V-6 will get a five-speed automatic. An all-wheel drive system derived from the smaller Sorrento SUV will be available. The V-6 is rated at 17 mpg city, 21 mpg highway. The V-8 has yet to be rated. The Borrego will seat seven people comfortably and will tow up to 7,500 pounds. Prices have yet to be announced.
