| | |  | | Infiniti's crossover SUV, notable for its unique styling, gets a makeover for 2009 that includes more power. The FX35 retains its 3.5-liter V-6, but now that engine produces 28 more horsepower for a total of 303. The FX50 gets a new 5.0-liter V-8 that pounds out 390 horsepower. Both engines use a new seven-speed automatic transmission and the V-6 is available with either rear-wheel or all-wheel drive. The V-8 version is available only in all-wheel drive configuration. Pricing ranges from more than $40,000 for the FX35, rising to more than $56,000 for the FX50. Not surprisingly, the V-8 FX is not a fuel sipper, returning just 14 mpg city, 20 mpg highway. The V-6 version does slightly better 16 mpg city, 23 mpg highway. | | |
