New for '09: Audi A4

Audi A4

Audi's bread-and-butter A4 has always been an attractive sedan, but since it's priced on a par -- from $29,000-$39,000, depending on model -- with other European elite models, the A4 has always seemed to be a bit lacking in panache, sportiness and power. For 2009, Audi hopes to cure that with a new A4 that will mimic the sleek styling of the A5 and will be equipped with a sportier suspension. Under the hood will be a new 211 horsepower version of Audi's 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine as well as a 265 horsepower 3.2 liter V-6. A 3.0-liter turbo-diesel V-6 will join the lineup in 2010 or 2011. Expect fuel mileage to equal or improve upon the 21 mpg city and 29 mph highway.
