Top 10 costliest natural disasters

The drought and heat wave that hit the central and eastern United States in 1988 is among the 10 costliest natural disasters to hit the United States between 1980 and 2010. Combined, all 10 disasters caused more than $500 billion in damage and more than 20,000 deaths.
