No. 6: Mental health and substance abuse services
Before Obamacare, nearly 1 in 5 Americans with individual market health insurance had no mental health coverage, and about a third weren't covered for addiction services, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. Now, plans must offer outpatient behavioral treatment, such as counseling and psychotherapy, as well as any related inpatient care. Some plans may restrict this coverage to 20 days of care per year.
