Rate: 5.73 percent (line of credit); 8.49 percent (loan)Rates on home equity products rose slightly this week.
The average home equity line of credit, or HELOC, ticked up 2 basis points, to 5.73 percent. Home equity loan rates also rose 2 basis points, to 8.49 percent.
In other news, delinquencies on home equity loans and HELOCs rose to record levels during the first quarter of 2009, according to the American Bankers Association.
Loan delinquencies increased to 3.52 percent of all accounts in the first quarter, while HELOC delinquencies rose to 1.89 percent of all accounts.
