8 wacky credit card rewards
Credit card points can fund your next vacation or add some much-needed cash to your wallet. But these days, issuers will also let you put rewards toward other unconventional gifts, like an archery set.
These interesting redemption options are meant to attract and retain the most valuable credit card holders.
"More unique rewards can really increase customer satisfaction with high-value clients," says Eric Lindeen, director of marketing at Zoot Enterprises, which provides credit solutions to large financial institutions. "Cash back is nice, but the memory of it quickly fades. ... Creating experiences for elite cardholders delivers satisfaction, loyalty and word-of-mouth PR."
