As one of the three primary U.S. credit bureaus, Experian tracks credit histories of an estimated 215 million American consumers. All consumers can gain access to one annual free credit report from the company.

Consumers who discover credit report errors can contact Experian to dispute the information, arrange a credit fraud alert or discuss other options to remedy their report.

In addition to helping private consumers stay in the know about their credit activity, Experian's data collection delivers reports on consumer credit trends, such as tracking credit card use in U.S. cities and monitoring how much Americans are charging.
