Parking small cars: Fiat 500

6 small cars you can park anywhere
Fiat 500
  • Fiat 500

  • Starting price: $15,500
  • Gas mileage: 30 mpg city/38 mpg highway

Ever since Fiat bought Chrysler, this small car has been making a big impression on U.S. roads. Just one look tells you that you're dealing with a small car that's easy to park. But if want to get out your measuring tape, you'll find that the Fiat 500 has a width of about 5 feet and a length of less than 12 feet. It's also a bargain, ranking 19 out of 41 on U.S. News and World Report's list of most affordable small cars.

On the performance front, Fiat leaves some drivers wanting more. But if you prefer style to power, the Fiat 500 is worth a look. The company claims there are 500,000 customization choices, including 14 paint colors, striping, and exterior and interior styling accessories. There's also a Gucci edition that starts at $23,750.

In terms of space, you won't be able to take more than one friend for a ride, and you shouldn't plan on hauling too much cargo. But what you do put inside the Fiat should be safe with a total of seven air bags.
