Fuel economy: 29 city and 40 highway mpg

The Ford Fiesta is an Americanized version of one of Europe's best-selling cars. It is available as a sedan and hatchback. With a starting car price of $13,995 for the highly fuel-efficient SFE version, the Fiesta comes standard with a height-adjustable driver's seat, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, air conditioning, seven air bags, and traction and stability control.

For 2012, the Fiesta features an integrated blind spot sideview mirror and a driver's seat armrest. Powered by a 120-horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, it has an EPA-rating of 29 city and 40 highway mpg when a Fiesta SE sedan or hatchback is ordered with the SFE package. The SFE package includes the PowerShift automatic transmission, a rear spoiler, side air deflectors, underbody shields, lower grille blockers, low-rolling resistance tires (to make the car fuel efficient) and cruise control.
