GMC Sierra HD

The 2011 Sierra HD lineup is proof that there's room for luxury in a work truck.

The Sierra's premium model, the Denali, is available for the first time as a heavy-duty truck, with high-end features including heated leather seats, chrome handles and a truckload of optional extras.

The Sierra is the kissing cousin of the Chevy Silverado in terms of its towing capacity, but has its own distinct exterior styling and interior features.

Compared to older Sierras, the newer models feature increased towing and payload capacities. The Sierra's re-engineered steel frame is strong enough to handle a full-size snowplow. A new exhaust brake controls its speed when going downhill.

  • Maximum payload: 6,635 pounds.
  • Engine: Optional 6.6-liter, V-8 turbo-diesel engine, can run on biodiesel.
