comparison 2006-2007: Still
overpriced but prices falling
Buyers who waited
until this year will be able to get more for the
money, says Realtor Gavin Ernstone with Re/Max Associates.
Last year, the median home price in the Las Vegas
area was $315,900. This year it slid to $313,500.
"You'll be looking at the same house, but maybe with a pool or an additional bedroom or in a nicer area," he says. But if you have your heart set on a condo, you might be out of luck. Similar to last year, there really aren't many listings in the $400,000 price range, Ernstone says. "They're either way above or way below."
But,
as far as single-family homes, he says, "There is
an enormous amount of properties on the market at
the moment."
