Web sites make it easier for Spanish-speaking home buyers

Cut the confusionThere is a growing number of bilingual real estate Web sites. Real Estate Espanol should make it easier for Spanish-speaking home buyers to find and negotiate for their dream house.

The Web site was created by the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals, a San Diego-based organization aimed at helping Hispanic-American real estate agents, home buyers and homeowners.

The Hispanic real estate market is growing throughout the country but is especially strong in California, Florida, Texas and New York -- with rapid growth recently in Chicago and Denver.

"The market hasn't been ignored, it's just that people have had difficulty seeing how to best serve the community," says Gary Acosta, president of Real Estate Espanol. "It's a complicated issue. We're empowering the professionals to gain access to consumers."

Real Estate Espanol features house listings from homeseekers.com as well a mortgage center where customers can pre-qualify online. Acosta says Real Estate Espanol has established a partnership with mortgage.com and is in the process of negotiating with four other mortgage companies.

Real estate professionals will be able to use the Web site as a referral network. Acosta also expects to have an online directory to help professionals and consumers find each other. The National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals estimates there are more than 50,000 Hispanic-Americans employed in real estate and related fields such as lending, insurance, escrow and title companies.
