Fame & Fortune: Emme

Bankrate: Have you been economical in furnishing your home?

Emme: Phil and I love to go to Lambertville, N.J., or Nyack, N.Y., and the Jersey Shore. There are the best antique places there, but antiques are not inexpensive. We love rummaging through, and if we find a nice container or vase, we get it. I'm also one who loves to try eBay. But then again, I splurge on cashmere throw blankets. I have them in all different colors and in every room of the house -- sometimes a few in each room. And I love silk pillows all over.

Bankrate: You are a role model for many full-figured women. Do women come up to you and thank you for making them feel like goddesses, too?

Emme: A lot of women say it's refreshing to see that I put myself together for work and when I'm home, they say it's amazing to see I'm just like one of them because my hair's in a ponytail and I'm with no makeup. I love the part of my job where I'm helping build self-esteem of young girls and women of all different shapes and sizes. To say to them, "Let's regain what we might have lost or learn what we might not have ever known about ourselves -- that we can do other things in our lives besides being body obsessed." That's why I started my clothing line. We live in a society that is based upon the attainment of unrealistic beauty. I want women to know their self-esteem is not contingent upon their dress size. My collection is for sizes 10 to 24.

Bankrate: What are some nutritional staples I would always find in your fridge?

Emme: Organic eggs, soy milk, soy margarine or organic butter, orange juice, homemade mozzarella cheese and goat cheese, but very little dairy products. I have Ezekiel breads in the freezer. Tons of carrots, cucumbers, celery, green peppers and salad products and tons of fresh fruit all the time. I keep this beautiful bowl stocked with oranges, apples, cherries, blueberries, nectarines. I always have chicken around and whole grains. I do have a chocolate drawer, but I don't take much from the chocolate drawer; seriously, I can keep it there for months before it's gone.

Bankrate: What is your favorite body part?

Emme: I try not to be too specific because your body is truly going to be what it is. My favorite asset is probably my legs. They're very strong and shapely. And I've made a lot of money with my legs so I'm very happy with them. My legs have probably bought this home and a lot more.

Bankrate: Okay, so what is your Achilles' heel?

Emme: My feet, although there are a lot of people wanting pictures of my feet, God knows why. I can't stand them. I remember my mother used to entertain barefoot with painted red toenails. She had pretty feet.
