Bankrate: You've done a good job of turning your interests into
TV shows.
Adam Carolla: I think that's sort of the key. For me, the first
order of business was to make a living in show business. Now that
I've been able to achieve that, now it's time to make a living doing
what I want to do, and talking about the things I'm interested in.
That's where the home improvement model came in.
Bankrate: So you're
just turning everything you ever did into a show. Are we going to
see "Adam Carolla's Boxing Boot Camp" next for the Discovery
Channel, or ESPN2?
Adam Carolla: (laughs) It's a possibility.
Bankrate: "Too Late with Adam Carolla" on Comedy Central.
Do you know yet if that's getting picked up for next season?
Adam Carolla: I don't know. Comedy Central has some date they have
to tell us by whether they're going to bring the show back or not,
and I don't think that date has passed yet. As a matter of fact,
I called our executive producer and said, "Hey, that tin sign
that hung in front of our office that said 'Too Late with Adam Carolla,'
I wanna get that and hang it up in my warehouse," and he said,
"Well, the show's not canceled yet, so you can't have your
tin sign." On one hand, I was a little disappointed I couldn't
get my tin sign. On the other hand, I thought, well, that's a good
sign. They can't give me my tin sign yet.
Bankrate: You sound like you're expecting that to be the end of
that.
Adam Carolla: I really don't know. I'm philosophical. I'm moving
forward and working on the radio show obviously, and as far as the
TLC show and the Comedy Central shows go, either both will get picked
up, or one of them, or neither of them. Either way, I'm going to
be plugging away on the radio.
