Hamburger casserole
½ lb. ground beef, browned
6 cups macaroni, cooked
2 cups American cheese
1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
½ tsp. garlic powder
½ tsp. onion powder
Salt (to taste)
In a casserole, mix warm, browned ground beef with
warm noodles and cheese. Stir until melted. Add tomato sauce, garlic
powder, onion powder and salt. Heat in oven at 350° for 20 minutes.
Serves 4.
Window cleaner*
½ cup ammonia
2 cups rubbing alcohol
Water
1 tsp. dishwashing liquid
In a gallon container, mix together ammonia and rubbing
alcohol. Fill almost to the top with water. Add dishwashing liquid
and mix. Top off with water. Rated to work much better (and much
more cheaply!) than most commercial window and kitchen sprays by
Consumer Reports magazine. Alcohol is the secret ingredient -- it's
what commercial window washers use.
*Safe on most, but not all, household surfaces. Never
mix ammonia and bleach.
Hot mustard
1 cup dry mustard
¼ tsp. corn oil
2 tbsp. honey
½ cup water
Mix ingredients. Seal in a jar. Age 2 weeks
in a cool, dark place and then refrigerate. Makes 1½ cups.
