My mother co-signed for a Hummer for my sister
and ex-brother-in-law. The payments are getting
to be too much for my sister to handle. Do they
have the right to take the Hummer back and find
something else that's more in their payment range,
or is my sister stuck paying for it for the rest
of her life?
Sorry, but your sister has no "rights" to now
demand a cheaper vehicle. She can try to sell
or trade in the Hummer -- good luck with that,
because it's likely she owes far more than it's
worth -- and get something cheaper. Or she can
continue making payments -- a grim prospect, but
that's the reality.
