I am looking to buy a used van or SUV. Is it safe to buy from a rental agency? They offer decent rates and financing, too -- but are the vehicles in good condition?

Buying cars coming off rental can often be a good deal. They tend to have 12,000 miles to 15,000 miles on them but are only a year or so old. They still have warranties and, as you point out, the rental agency often will offer financing. They've also usually been maintained well, but I'd ask to see the service records before I bought one.
