Anchor Intro: Most Christmas gifts for kids will be broken, forgotten or both within weeks of the holidays. But the gift of knowledge can last a lifetime. Bankrate.com has some suggestions for something a little different: gifts that pay.

Voice over 2: Wouldn't it be nice to give a gift that lasts a lifetime? You can if you consider stuffing that stocking with some knowledge about money.
Voice over 3: Maybe a book that teaches: This one's called Alexander, Who Used to Be Rich Last Sunday It's for 4 to 8 year olds and costs about 7 bucks.
Voice over 4: Or a game: Maybe Monopoly, or Payday: You can find either in different versions $13 and up. These are suitable for pre-teens and older.
Voice over 5: Or things that encourage saving, like this laser-beam safe. It's $25. Or this nifty ATM that lets you deposit, withdraw and has its own ATM card: It's $50. Or even a simple jar that counts coins: It's only $13.
Voice over 6: Here's a toy that's supposed to teach toddlers to grocery-shop like mom and dad. It's $40.
Standup: And then there are the classic gifts: a share or two of stock -- Disney's on sale these days. It's only about 20 bucks a share. Or how about a contribution to a 529 college savings plan or IRA? That's something you can do for as little as 25 bucks. So think about a gift that gives knowledge.
