Be yourself, because being someone else is just weird and creepy.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Never respond to an email with your first reaction, especially in anger. A little time can change your perspective and save you from a response you may later regret.

What's the most exciting thing you've done while working here?

When we changed from a flat rate business model to cost per click, I had the opportunity to help create a new department from the ground up.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

The most enjoyable part of my job is how in our fast-paced environment I am doing different things every day - learning new technologies, learning new ways we are applying these technologies to our site, learning how to test against them, and learning how to prevent issues from popping up in future implementations. It's an odd thing to say about quality assurance, but our department has to constantly shift and adjust which prevents our work from ever getting stale or boring.

What's the most exciting thing you've done while working here?

This year I am heavily involved in our MyBankrate project to provide a more personalized experience for our users, and so far it has been one of the most exciting things I've been involved with here. Also, seeing what we have laid out in the future for MyBankrate has made me even more enthusiastic about being on this project as I think it will help shape Bankrate's forward progress.

Any hidden talents?

I am a pretty decent swimmer - I practice and train regularly and enjoy the occasional competition.

How do you describe your job to others in a social scene?

My team is responsible for all of Bankrate's data which includes the databases that house the rates that Banks display on our site, our financial data, as well as our site metrics, such as the amount of users that come to our site, how many pages they visit and the revenue from those visits. We also provide insight into our user's behavior while they are on bankrate.com

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?

I enjoy problem solving. As we have grown so dramatically over the past few years there are constantly new challenges that I can dig into and come up with creative solutions.
