America's 50 biggest cities: best-to-worst savers

Wonder how your home town stacks up in relation to putting away some cash for a rainy day?

American Express commissioned Sperling's BestPlaces, a national research firm, to determine which city's residents are the best and worst savers. Researchers analyzed public data on investments, net worth, homeownership of second homes, foreclosures and bankruptcies in the country's 50 largest metropolitan areas through May and June of 2006.

Here's how they ranked from best to worst:
