ATM surcharges everywhere

Percentage of bank-owned ATMs with surcharges hit new high
The percentage of banks in the survey with ATM surcharges has jumped notably in the past two years, reaching the highest level yet. The percentage has jumped from less than 91 percent in fall 2004 to more than 98 percent now. Just how prevalent is the practice of automated teller machine surcharges? The percentage of banks owning ATMs that assess surcharges is the same as banks that offer online account access -- 98.3 percent.
