Cut costs on your commute and your vehicleThe average fee your bank charges for using another institution's ATM has shown little change in the past two years after increasing steadily in the four years prior to that.

The average fee to use another bank's ATM is now $1.29, up from $1.28 in spring 2004, unchanged from one year ago, and a hair below the record $1.30 established in spring 2003. The current average is now 19 percent higher than the $1.08 in fall 1998. The most common fee assessed by banks continues to be $1.50.
