the most recent version of the checking study.
The
average fee your bank charges for using another institution's
ATM has shown little change in the past two years after increasing
steadily in the four years prior to that.
The average fee to use another
bank's ATM is now $1.29, up from $1.28 in spring 2004, unchanged
from one year ago, and a hair below the record $1.30 established
in spring 2003. The current average is now 19 percent higher
than the $1.08 in fall 1998. The most common fee assessed
by banks continues to be $1.50.
