  Stock the Staples
Make a list of the household items you will ALWAYS need: toilet paper, toothpaste, soap, household cleansers, shampoo, etc. Choose one and research its prices at your local stores and online. When you find an excellent price, buy a large amount, say, six to nine months worth. I've stockpiled about one item per month, and have saved hundreds of dollars using this method. Plus, I never have to run to the store for that "have to have" item!
