What credit card issuers are doing

American Express
Fixed: Haven't announced any changes.
Variable: No comment.

Capital One
Fixed and variable: No comment.

Discover Card
Fixed: No comment.
Variable: Rates went up one-quarter of 1 percent on Aug. 1.

Citi Cards
Fixed and variable: No comment.

Bank of America:
Fixed: Not going up this year.
Variable: Going up one-quarter of 1 percent with the September statement.

Household International
Fixed: "No big adjustments being made."
Variable: APR floats with the prime rate.

MBNA
Fixed: "Customers will probably see notification in their next billing statement."
Variable: "Probably going to see increases as well."

Chase Card Services
Fixed: No increase at this time.
Variable: No comment.
