Gas rebate credit cards compared

Paying for gas is a lot more painful lately, but with a gas rebate credit card you won't have to haul so much cash, and you'll get something back. But carrying a balance can be costly and lead to some nasty bills -- these cards tend to charge a higher annual percentage rate than other cards.

While the Bankrate.com national survey for the week of July 3 to July 8 found that the average variable-rate credit card carried an APR of 17.12 percent, the interest rate on gas rebate cards can run as high as 24.4 percent.
