Credit card corporate designed to broaden small-business
appeal

Credit card issuers are trying
new ways to lure small-business customers. The latest are corporate
alliances that provide discounts on supplies, travel or even professional
services.
While somewhat limited now, credit card companies
say more partnerships are in the works. Here are the current strategic
alliances by credit card brand. Individual card issuers may offer
additional enhancements.
American
Express
- FedEx Express, Hertz, Mobil/Exxon
- Hilton hotels and resorts, DoubleTree, Hampton
Inn, Homewood Suites, Embassy Suites
- Online savings available at the Offer Zone
- The Community Business Card donates 1 percent of
purchases to small business nonprofits that provide micro loans
and training for small companies.
MasterCard
- Airborne Express, Avis, IBM, Penny-Wise office
products
- For a $65 annual fee, the JPMorganChase
Business Card begins redemption at 7,500 points.
- You'll need a two-year track record to get a Business
MasterCard from JPMorganChase,
MBNA
America, or Citibank.
- Advanta
Business Services will consider new businesses.
Visa
- Hertz, Thrifty Car Rental, Home Depot Maintenance
Warehouse, Compaq
- Holiday Inn, Days Inn, Country Inn, Drury Hotels,
Marriott, Radisson, Wyndham
- Offers business, corporate, purchasing and fleet
