Here's a look at the state of interest rates on five common consumer banking products and the latest rates from Bankrate.com's weekly national survey of large banks and thrifts conducted June 25, 2008.

Credit cards

Rates: 13.42 percent (standard fixed); 11.68 percent (standard variable)

Average variable rates slid again this week. For all variable-rate credit cards -- standard, gold and platinum -- the average fell 4 basis points to 11.28 percent. Fixed-rate cards remained at 11.88 percent. Standard variable-rate cards bumped down 8 basis points to 11.68 percent and standard-fixed-rate cards hovered at 13.42 percent.
