Marshal Mathers, better known as Eminem and Slim Shady, spent
his first royalty check on a 1999 convertible Ford Mustang with a custom purple
paint job. If you have dreams of imitating Slim, you just missed the chance
of a lifetime. The notorious "purple pill" was auctioned off on Ebay
by Russ Milne Ford of Macomb Township, Mich. But when the bidding ended, the
winner was nowhere to be found.
Second highest bidder Roger Wittenburns, CEO of the Fort
Lauderdale, Fla., based Lady of America fitness chain, was contacted by the
dealership. Wittenburns purchased the vehicle for $27,900.
Still want a pill of your own? The good news is it will cost you
a lot less than Wittenburns paid. Edmunds
says 1999 Mustang Cobras are going for $22,727 at dealerships and $20,432 when
purchased in private sales.
Slim had the custom alloy tires and sound system removed
before he traded in. But some standard features in the 1999 model are aluminum
and alloy wheels, AM/FM stereo with a CD and cassette player, 5-speed transmission,
alarm system, anti-lock brakes, keyless entry system, power everything, tinted
glass, traction control system and velour and cloth seats.
