No matter how concerned buyers are about fuel economy, it's a given that most still want a vehicle that accelerates well. We rank the cars that deliver the most bang for buck.
 Audi RS4 420 horsepower 4.2-liter V8
Audi RS4   There is no other way to describe the S4 version of Audi's A4 sedan than as a factory hot rod. A 4.2-liter V8 is shoe-horned under the hood and connected to Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system. An indication that this car was built for serious performance: It's available only with a six-speed manual transmission. MSRP: $66,910.
 BMW M5 500 horsepower 5-liter V10
BMW M5   When eight cylinders aren't enough, just add a two more. That's the philosophy with the BMW M5, which benefits from a 500-horsepower engine and a seven-speed clutch-less manual/automatic gearbox. BMW claims a 0-to-60 mph time of 4.8 seconds. MSRP: $82,900.
 Cadillac CTS-V 400 horsepower 6-liter V8
Cadillac CTS-V   Perhaps not as sophisticated as its European competitors, Cadillac's effort at building a high-performance sports sedan is still impressive. It comes with a six-speed manual transmission, itself a departure from the usual Cadillac automatic, as well as a sport suspension. It's considerably more expensive than the standard CTS sedan, but still a bargain when compared to competitors. MSRP: $51,425.
