No matter how concerned buyers are about fuel economy, it's a given that most still want a vehicle that accelerates well. We rank the cars that deliver the most bang for buck.
 BMW 3 Series 3-liter inline six, 230 horsepower
BMW 3 Series  The 3 Series BMW comes in a base 3-liter inline six, but those in pursuit of performance will likely opt for the 335Ci coupe, which makes 300 horsepower. Those with cushy bank accounts will likely opt for the ultra-performance M3 coupe, with its 3.2-liter, 333 horsepower inline six, which lists for $48,900 in hardtop form and $56,600 for the convertible. As good as that version is, the 335Ci is the ride of choice. Prices start just above $35,300, but there's a long list of performance options. MSRP: $37,600.
 Infiniti G37 3.7-liter V6, 330 horsepower
Infiniti G37  Restyled for 2007, the G37 is wider and sleeker, with increased power to match. The new 3.7-liter V6 makes an impressive 330 horsepower. The suspension has a sportier feel than the previous G35 model, making it clear that Infiniti is gunning for the BMW 3 Series for top performance coupe honors. MSRP: $34, 500.
 Audi A5 3.2-liter V6, 260 horsepower
Audi A5  Audi takes a big step into the performance coupe market with the all-new A5, which in base trim will come with a 260-horsepower 3.2-liter V6, coupled to either a six-speed manual transmission or a continuously variable automatic. The big gun will be the S4, which will pack a 4.2-liter V8 that makes 354 horsepower. MSRP: About $40,000 .
