The major news for 2005 is that Lexus will be
the first luxury brand to offer a hybrid gas-electric vehicle.
The fuel-efficient power plant will arrive in
the RX sport-utility vehicle and will be badged as the RX 400h.
It promises to deliver power on a par with a V8 with fuel economy
that's better than a standard V6.
It's due to arrive in April as a 2006 model.
The rest of the Lexus lineup remains much the same
but on the horizon is a V8 version of the IS300 sport sedan and
an all-new GS sport sedan.
The GX 470 SUV gets more horsepower -- 270, up from 235.
