Average ATM fee for noncustomers

Cut costs on your commute and your vehicleThe average fee that ATM owners charge noncustomers has shown little movement in the past four years, after increasing significantly in the two years prior to that.

The average ATM fee is now $1.37, up from $1.32 in spring 2004, but down from the record $1.40 established one year ago. The current average is now 54 percent higher than the fall 1998 average of $0.89. The most common fee assessed by banks continues to be $1.50.
